"Brexit: Time to make your plans, UK IT biz Legal Armageddon? Maybe, maybe not – but we'd better get moving Analysis The Brexit debate continues and, with the Leave and Remain camps neck and neck, it looks likely that the undecided few will carry the result. It seems that we can expect more headline-grabbing soundbites until the vote on June 23. The polarised nature of this debate is throwing up some interesting oddities, so you might be wondering what to believe and how to prepare." www.theregister.co.uk/2016/03/31/brexit_legal_armageddon/

Oh the personal freedom....it's scary to think I could tie my laces any way I want.... War is Peace. Ignorance is Strength. Freedom is Slavery. Hence the reason I wear slip ons. Left The UK before Nanny could teach me how to thai my shoes.

Left The UK before Nanny could teach me how to thai my shoes. My mother taught me which makes it acceptable. Mind you, I'm also wearing slip-ons now, for the last twenty years already.

Is it possibly the case that what the EU fears is not as much Brexit, but that the UK could just be the 1st of the contributor county's opting to leave?.

Is it possibly the case that what the EU fears is not as much Brexit, but that the UK could just be the 1st of the contributor county's opting to leave?. Interesting question. I'm not sure 'the' EU fears, probably more some EU member states fear. Other states are a bit more indifferent. There may also be a bit of an anti-British feeling in this as the UK never really worked on being seen as pro-EU. The 'wonderful' concessions Cameron got in Brussels two months ago didn't really amount to much and people in Brussels would know how negative that might be interpreted. So let the Brits decide. I only hope it's a decision based on objective data rather than catchy phrases. PS yes I know, a bit of wishful thinking in the last sentence, but that's because I just saw a flock of pigs wing past

And there in a nutshell is the crux of the matter. It only needs one country to go and a big player at that and then certainly others will follow. Those states that remain are going to be paying out much bigger membership fees or to be honest their taxpayers will be financing the bigger membership fees for their remaining in that dubious club.

OT but Greece's economy problems in the news again. I'm not sure if the BBC is misquoting Angela Merkel, but. "It is not legally possible to cut Greece's debt, whilst they remain in the European Union I'm sure it should be Euro Zone.

In 2014 the total UK contribution to the EU annual budget of 142 billion was 11.341 billion with expenditure 6.935 billion leaving a netto contribution of 4.34 billion EURO. That's peanuts. ec.europa.eu/budget/figures/interactive/index_en.cfm

Not a fan, but no one could misquote him. He taped all his interviews. This meeting I'm with him. But the EEC was Churchill's idea, and the UK was not part of that idea.
