A bloody good solution to Thai visa troubleWith the annual renewal of my retirement visa pending, this came to mind. I was a blood donor in my home country and would gladly donate in Thailand, where there is always a blood shortage. How about giving foreign residents free visa extensions in return for regular donations of blood to Thailand's public hospitals? You can give blood every 10 weeks, or five times per year. Regular donations could be considered equivalent to the 90-day reporting. Donors would merely need to present the hospital record of their donation at Immigration to get the extension. The result would be a win-win situation, with donor, hospital, Immigration and blood recipient all benefiting. Off course, normal requirements for foreign retirees regarding monthly income or money in the bank would still apply. A 5 year TE visa for a kidney ? A life time TE visa for both kidneys Is the exchange rate on their pensions getting so bad they are considering trading body parts to continue "to live the dream" and get a stamp in their PP

Oh, creative thinking. That'll never happen here in Thailand!
On the negative side, what percentage of the average expat's blood here isn't haemoglobin but alcohol? Might cause a few issues.

I would hate to be the poor Somchai that ended up with their livers or lungs, heart is probably all clogged up as well.
Lets be honest, just send them straight to the knackers yard.
Free visa extensions, jeez if you cant afford 1900 baht you probably have bigger problems and shouldnt be here.

Just think of the gene issues if you were to get blood or body parts courtesy of the BBQ or even worse the mods in the other place.

UPDATE - Seems Bloody Mary A+ is still trying to blag his free visa... Re: “Expat donors escaping 90-day reports? Not bloody likely!” Letters, April 13. Far from being an April Fool's joke, as Barry Kenyon suggests, I was "bloody" serious. Here's why my proposal - that expat retirees could donate blood in exchange for free visa extensions - makes sense.
If you are 50 years old you can apply for a retirement visa, and you have 10 years left to give blood before you reach the donor limit of 60. Four times a year over 10 years becomes 16 litres/kilos. I have six years left to donate. Think about it - free extension, free health check, etc. I understand that no one at the Pattaya Bridge Club could donate blood under today's rules, so please, continue with the language courses. That's great! However, the reality is that donating blood can save lives, while playing cards can lead to trouble.

^^^^ wonder what his username is, theres about half a dozen spring to mind. Seems to me "Bloody Mary A+" is a selfish little slug...if one chooses to donate blood you do it because you want to.... as a "charitable" act not because there is something in it for you maybe he has it it his head that "white old farang blood" is somehow superior and is "worth" more or something... What's next ? the TEFL's willing to donate blood in exchange for a work permit ?

UPDATE: And another self righteous, full of entitlement white middle aged whinger who is obviously unhappy with his lot in life in Thailand barrels in
They don’t want your alien blood
Re: “Blood for visa scheme no joke”, Bloody Mary, Letters, April 15.
Gee, what a great idea. What about taking it a step further and getting visa-renewal waivers for donating an organ? And how about donating 10 per cent of your retirement cheque for a little sensitivity and politeness? Or, we could just politely try to convince them that, after 10 years, we should never have to go to immigration again - ever!
Bloody Mary, haven't you figured out yet that it's not about logic or fairness or blood, money or organs. It's about reminding us regularly that they have the power over us and can remove us any time they like. Once you learn to accept that, you'll be a lot more comfortable.

Sums up nicely why there are so many pompous, deluded fools on TVF.
Looks like they are starting to realise that their statuses in Thailand, they thought oh so rock-solid up in the shack they built in Isaan for Tee Rak are in reality pretty flimsy, in spite that they all seem to think themselves pillars of the community.
I recently posted 'over there' in reply to to a few idiots on TVF who were making the tired old outraged claims on Webfact's clickbait 'news' articles, nonsense like: ''Over-stayers/Farangs Behaving Badly in general; were/are making it harder for the rest of 'we' law abiding citizens to get visas...'', that;
''soon the only 'expats/foreigners' in Thailand for more than two/four weeks holiday a year, will be the super-rich on ever more expensive 'elite visas' or those with the relevant/required skills, qualifications, experience who are employed by multi nationals, Diplomatic or Thai or Regional governmental organisations, NGOs, or Thai companies (and I can see them even making those of us fortunate to fall into this category ''jump through hoops'' in the future); regardless of how many kids they've managed to squeeze out of their bar girls''
I got some rather 'hot' reactions to my post from the type who had never done 'any wrong' and were waving their imaginary statuses around, but few were able to disagree.

When the certain retiree's on the dark side star started banging their hands on the table and demanding their "rights" in Thailand, I have posed the following questions in varying forms over the years and yet to get a definitive response: 1. How many countries in the world even offer Retirement visa's these days ? 2. out of the countries listed above how many offer permanent residency or citizenship to said retiree's but here they are demanding permanent residency in Thailand because they have brought their state pensions into Thailand for 5 or 10 years... To date I don't believe anyone has answered, the BBQ tried to get cute citing some South American shit hole, saying as a retiree, if you invested USD 50k ? you would get citizenship of said country after 3 or 5 years (cant remember which) but digging deeper this citizenship thing was to do with buying property nothing to do with being retired

If you want to put the fear of god into them, ask the question, how are they going to survive and meet the requirements when Thailand raises the figures required for visas? Out comes the, "we will all be grandfathered" line. Oh really? Their "rights", dont make me laugh.

Who the fark is the BBQ?
Well the reason they get so het up is that they've had to 'invest' their little all in Thailand for the pleasure of sharing a prossie's fannyhole with her 'brother' and buying her a house he'll never be able to own, but they still think they're the Lord Mayor, yet they still have to work to keep themselves in urine warm Leo to drink while Tee Rak pops round to 'look after' her 'brother'.
I've posted to that effect on TVF in the past. 'Heavy Drinker' once got a 'holiday' for posting something like that on the Isaan forum from that illegal immigrant 'worker' Ubon Jaw (I have a feeling it had to do with responding to one of them 'is my wife cheating?' type of troll threads) but the guy had already reached the belligerent/angry stage having had spent most of the thread fighting off people ragging him for marrying a bar girl. Seeing as most of those ragging the guy had married BGs themselves I felt a bit of trolling of my own was in order so I chipped in with: 'She may or not be cheating but; as with many Isaan 'Wives', when she says she's just popping to 7-11 or to see her 'brother', the fact she comes home with her hair liberally matted with spunk is neither here nor there.' I got a load of 'likes' but a warning from a kant who wouldn't know a Work Permit if he came home and found it dry-bumming his wife.
