They've had to open another thread on this over there. Poor old Ubon Jaw is working his illegal arse off being kept busy by the furious old men over there demanding their 'rights' not seemingly understanding life in a dictatorship...... I could hear the rattling and gnashing of false teeth this morning as Indignant from Issan and Pennyless from Pattaya faced a peasant revolt after informing Uneducated from Udon her monthly "salalee" would be being cut.
No more Roses lime marmalade for breakfast, now more elevnsies on the balcony, the jump might be too tempting.

At least in Thailand they ask.
The Chinese gov simply gets into all your stuff and steal, no privacy laws in the mainland. Every 'alien' who has a Chinese visa is on a mother database which tracks all bank accounts, internet activity if you are on Chinese social media, exits and entries into China, your employer and past employers as your CV is required for M, Z, permanent visas I need not go on, Big Mao is always watching you.
They even do the face recognition thing where they know where you shop and where you go.
As my mum succinctly put it, 'Those bloody Commies, why do you like China?' The thing is I do like China, the soul of the Chinese not the gov though.

Well I had encounter this day that is or was linked to the dire dangers of being in Bangkok without at least 5 reams of paperwork to confirm who or what you are via the ''experts'' in the other place.
I was driving in Klong Toey and I was in the wrong lane to go straight on, so I swung to the next lane traffic was stopped at the traffic lights a 100 metres or so ahead and a stack of space behind me (I didn't want to turn left down Kasem Rat at that time).
Well out of the police box walked an eagle eyed jolly plod man who took a gentle stroll towards me.
Well I hoped it wasn't me he wanted, however my overwhelming personality had attracted his attention much the same as a dog is attracted to a bitch on heat
Tap on the window and a salute from him .A ''Sawadee Krup Tham Ruat'' from me with a sickly smile. He smiled and replied ''ekaksan.'''' Ekasan rot'' I replied, one word reply from him ''passport.''
Flipped the sun visor down extracted passport copy from plastic folder sleeve gave copy to him, he glanced at it said O.K and handed it back saluted and walked away.
Bloody amazed, no money mentioned no traffic violation ticket no problems lights changed and off I went, whole matter took about a minute and a half.
Now when one reads the sagas concerning others experiences in the other place I wonder what I did right.
Isuzu clean and tidy road tax and insurance stickers up to date, aged grey haired venerable falang driver all alone dressed in a yellow kings shirt, who knows?
My opinion is that there are far to many pikey types, drama queens, troll mods and mod click baiters posting in the other place about the I.D issue.

I've lived and worked here since 1994 and have never ever been asked to show some papers. Had someone asked I would show, after all I'm a legal alien with the proper papers. BTW SP, yellow shirt? How dare you! That's for Mondays, today you should wear an ORANGE shirt  |
