The unions in Australia are no where near as bad as they used to be but they are still there, may be some good ones out there but every one I ever had anything to do with (forced into joining or not allowed on site) were nothing but money grabbing scumbags.
Never saw a union rep who didn't have a nice house and driving a new car. Funny thing is they are nearly all Poms and Irishmen.
The Australian government said they want the subs built in Australia even though it will cost more money, it is an election promise, once they get back into power it will all die down.
