A poster on another forum that ran this story claims the English woman threw the first punch, I would like to know what was said by both parties beforehand if that is the case.

All that aside, the attack on the two men and the woman was inexcusable.

  Well, I read most of the comments on that forum topic, but it got a bit tedious after a while.  Some interesting posts as well as the usual suspects, jumping on the story and bashing Thailand for all it's worth, or defending it just as strongly.

Getting to the stage where it is hard to work out which comments are "planted" my the mods, I used to think it was only the Thai bashers but now I think they are masquerading as "Thai apologists" (God I hate that term, almost as bad as "Thainess") as well, just to keep the fighting going and the clicks flowing.

As usual "Bb" made some logical comments but will probably be branded an apologist for his trouble.
The older I get the more I believe there is always two sides, if not more, to every story.  And no matter what happens you will never get everyone sharing the same opinion on any given incident, that's called human nature.

The trouble is every time something like this happens there are people carrying on like every person in Thailand is the same as the thugs who beat up elderly tourists.

What a load of rubbish ! I would not have stayed in Thailand, married, had a son and built a house if that was the case. The entire country would be like a war zone.

I feel sorry for the English tourists who were attacked the way they were, by cowardly dogs, and hope they recover fully, physically and mentally.

In saying that there seems to be a set pattern when it comes to these terrible incidents, similar to many other countries :   tourists + alcohol + locals + alcohol/drugs + bars + late at night = disaster.

* Some funny comments on there as well, some posters actually thanking the forum for "breaking" the story and letting it out to the world. Hogwash !  They jumped on it because they knew it was click worthy, that is all.
And one long-time poster pointed out to the forum that if they were not already on the Government's/Police watch list, they will be now, for releasing the story.
