Even though a US Federal Reserve rate increase looms large, Thai equity is expected to be the best-performing asset class in the country this year, say chief investment officers of mutual fund companies, who also recommend investors shun long-term bonds.
"For the first five months this year, fund inflows were heavy into emerging markets, including the Thai bourse," he said.
The Thai stock market has advanced 11% this year and is expected to keep rising, said Mr Veera. The start of several big-ticket infrastructure projects in the second half will be a boon to the bourse, he said.
