Not being in Thailand. Finding this place a little isolating. Ok let's start a Myanmar forum?

Not hate, but dislike in an amused way:
Asking "is it this or that" and getting the answer "yes"

I'm receiving messages of thanks. Thanks for having a thread like this. The other place never let us or we were belittled for it.
You're welcome. Here you can speak your mind without the same fear from those on the other side bullies.
No fear.

Not being in Thailand. Finding this place a little isolating. Some of us have lived in Thailand "long time" and hopefully learnt a bit. You chose to go to another S E Asian country, and the rules might be different, I don't know, never tried it. Hungary I suspect is very European, I am European and can quickly assimilate into that culture. I know the background, the religion (favourite topic of the moment) and hence much of the cultural heritage. Burma, British colony, once and then I do not know. Good luck.

Elastic bands, I'll be damned if I can remove them as quickly as the Thais.

Missionaries of any variety. For some reason they have flocked to Myanmar.

Blind Singers, just cos Stevie Wonder was good doesnt mean all blind people are. Its a bit like Scousers all thinking they are comedians.

Thailand as we know it is a product of the Vietnam War, a pseudo American airstrip, just like the UK. It grates on the Thais, but they learnt about money, money, money and with the indigenous Chinese; boom. Burma? Where does it swing? Thailand; well we all await.

the use of a calculator for example to do the most basic mental arithmetic. ie, 25 baht + 25 baht = 50 baht and the change out of a 100 baht note is............ ? der ! and then you get the change in 5, 10 and 20 baht denominations as if to say with a look of, shove that smarty pant farang. which takes even longer once they have added all of that up, ffs.

Burma swings in odd ways- it's a total enigma to me. Once the old regime relax the economic restrictions then boom time will come. Curiously, the cost of living is high for the locals, particularly rent. If I wanted to buy my apartment it would cost 1 million USD- that boggles the mind in a country where a good wage would be $200 a month. I am surprised there isn't more anger about this.
