I've seen Skyfall, The Departed, Million Dollar Baby and Slumdog Millionaire.
You may get me to agree to the idea that Skyfall became a bit tedious. The other three I thought were great.

Talk about 'overrated', I haven't even ever heard of eight of them. Only vaguely remember ""Slumdog Millionaire" (wasn't that about some Indian slum kids?) and Network (presenter wanting to suicide on life TV?). Haven't seen either though.  |

Any film with loads of Oscars or Oscar nominations and very little else.
The 3 that immediately spring to mind
Out of Africa - 11 nominations - 7 Oscars
Driving Miss Daisy - 9 nominations - 4 Oscars
The colour Purple - 10 nominations
You really couldn't pay me to sit through that crap again.

Oh do stop, I do like some girly movies (e.g. seven pounds (that one has me crying like a baby at the end)) but the movies that I listed above are just sheer crap.
The Oscar nominations and wins are all about the money that is pumped into the Oscar committees pockets.
It's the same with FIFA and the same with the IOC, pump enough money in, get the votes and then draw the money back out.
