PromptPay for consumers likely to be delayed
Consumers are unlikely to be able to transfer money among themselves using the government's PromptPay service by the Oct 31 deadline due to "technical problems", according to bankers. The Thai Bankers' Association expressed concern on Wednesday that the consumer-to-consumer part of PromptPay might not be ready by the end of this month. The system is running into difficulties in terms of system installation and integration between local banks and the UK-based payment infrastructure operator VocaLink. Somkid Jiranuntarat, chairman of Information Technology club of the Thai Bankers Association, said the system was still be tested. "Personally I don't think the C2C [consumer-to-consumer] PromptPay will be launched by the schedule. We're still trying the solve the problems now.". more... www.bangkokpost.com/tech/local-news/1103129/promptpay-for-consumers-likely-to-be-delayed

Wouldn't and in fact don't trust the system at all. Been it seems cobbled together by a third year schoolchild (P.3) and about as secure as a used toilet tissue.

Been it seems cobbled together by a third year schoolchild (P.3) and about as secure as a used toilet tissue. I had wondered at the repeated claims that the system had been developed locally. Frankly, I don't think Thai IT capabilities are good enough to develop a system of this sort. However, when it came to blaming someone for the delay, they finally admit it was developed by a UK company, VocaLINK. (The "LINK" part of the name is the business that runs most ATMs in the UK. It also runs the "FastPay" payment system there.) So, the software's actually somewhat better than is being conveyed. Of course, that doesn't mean it's beyond the ability of Thai IT staff to stuff it all up big time.

Methinks the image below expresses my doubts and the doubts of many others too no doubt regarding the ''Prompt Pay'' operation here.
