Shame about the demise of af, and especially the suddenness of it. I quite like the absence of colour here. Can't have a blue mango after all. The orange reminds me of Dundee Utd and that is enough to raise a grin in my world. |

Well, the background color of the text box is the exact shade of blue that was used in AF. There's that... For a place that prided itself on its history, i.e., all those 'history of the Ajarn Forum' threads that were stickies in the Suggestion Box, the unceremonious end is disgraceful. Even the mods didn't get a heads up. Apparently, I'd been working for a <c**t>, for free. Now, how does one add videos with this software? |

When creating a new thread or post, find the Insert Video button on the posting page top clapperboard symbol 4th from the left to begin embedding a video to your post.
Once you click this button, a pop up will display asking for the Video URL, as well as be able to view a list of supported video websites. Simply paste in the URL of the video you would like to embed in your post; you can find the URL of the video either by copying directly from the web address in your web browsers address bar, or through a direct link provided by the share options of the video service you're linking from.
Once you have the URL pasted in, click the Insert Video button at the bottom of the pop up window. Now in the posting area, you should see an image placeholder for where the video player will be positioned in your post. After you create the post, the video will display in that spot.

It seems Ajarn had more in common with Thai Visa than first thought  For VDO clips like You tube I just cut and paste the link and the forum seems to do the rest automatically. ... and welcome ... |

I think Thai Visa actually pays their moderators.
Now, I know some posters here don't like TV and that's fine, but (some of) their mods are useful regarding visa issues and health matters.
Personally, I had close to 15,000 posts on AF. The fact that years of contributions disappeared with the click of the button is hilarious considering that Prego God had over 50,000. Now he is spewing his hate on twerkdoor thinking that his posts are so ..... important.
Newsflash.... no one gives a crap.

Which site will pick up the couple dozen regular users of the AF? Teak Door? Thai Visa? TTT? Over on TTT, they talked about the coming zombie apocalypse, hence my current avatar. They kind of disqualified themselves from my patronage because their software can't seem to send me a verification e-mail to start an account there. |

The guy was essentially given the board by Phil on the basis that he had 'rescued' it after it was hacked to death in 2004 (anyone remember the Marko interlude and that he had started a thread about being a teacher in the South and doing well. So he used everyone and then decided to give the two-finger salute to us all. I'd been posting there on and off for over 13 years, rather before Louis came on the scene. Hope he enjoyed his thrill. |

I was pretty shocked to hear that it basically closed immediatley, surely a weeks notice would have been a good way for the long standing members to have a chance to tidy up, say goodbye etc
Pretty sure that it ias a forum that wil be missed, as it's been around for such a longtime. Anyway, welcome to those new and old posters that are here on BM
