I believe the markets are open today. I think most people on BM are sensible enough and have been around enough to know this is a very sensitive topic now, and know how to self moderate themselves I suggest people refrain from any direct references to HM, and avoid any speculation around that particular subject. Yesterday was one of the most unusual days I've seen on the Thai stock markets. SET was down for most of the day, but then recovered to end in positive territory.
Futures market is now open and are showing the SET50 index to open up. SET closed at 906.77 yesterday. SET 50 December futures are trading around 937 which is over 3% above that level. December futures also actually closed at around 923 last night which again was a significant premium to the actual SET50 index close. The futures market opens and closes around 10-15 mins before/after the actual stock market

This morning the stock market has opened up over 3%. As usual, it's uncertainty that market dislikes, and some of that uncertainty has been dispelled.

And now up 4%. We're now actually ahead of where we were a month ago (1460/1470).

And closes up 4.6%.
Whilst I like investments going up in value, I don't like this sort of extreme volatility.
But then, markets never were rational.

Seems to have been relatively orderly today. SET up 4.59%
SET50 options prices were moving quickly in the morning compared to usual and there were a few strange prices around early on but it settled down. The end of yesterday's session had some stranger pricing though.
The main weird thing of note was that the initial margin requirement on my futures/options account had been hiked up significantly. No idea where they got the number from as it didn't seem to follow the usual standard calculations it should nor was it similar to the margin calculation required as of last night. I deliberately didn't have any big positions open for SET50 options/ futures, only a few small ones, but the margin requirement jumped from around 40k last night to over 200k this morning with no change in the portfolio. Back down to 30k+ today as I closed a few more positions for a small profit. Weird. Didn't know they could just hike up the margin calculations like that or maybe it was some sort of system blip.
