Personally, I could not care less if those moth-attracting bars were all closed down next week, I am sure life would go on.  Bar staff would eventually find work elsewhere, in perhaps less glittery surroundings, bar owners would drift into other businesses, and real estate would be rented out to people running guesthouses, shops and restaurants.

I was never really a bar-fly, saw a lot more in this country than flashing lights, make-up and seventies music played at full tilt.
