I love experimenting with my tomato based sauces. Last time I added a dash of organic apple cider vinegar and some mashed pineapple. Nearly always use a bit of cajun seasoning, and of course ground black pepper that I grind myself with a stone mortar and pestle. Very finely chopped bitter pickled vegetables adds a nice taste as well.

No, I don't cook at home. Well, except for this. It's really quite delicious. Add some dried fried onions... a little ham.

Sorry seb, have two cans of Prego in the galley ready to go in case of emergency. Thought I may need them tonight after drinking some San Miguels today but lovely wife has come to the rescue and knocked up a great feast.
Oh, and I am going to teach 3yo how to make pancakes on the weekend. Have explained the concept to him and he is rearing to go.
I make mine without eggs as they are the most disgusting things anyone could ever put in their mouth (I can just hear a couple of fellow posters saying "no they are not" !) and I use coconut water and a dash of evaporated milk.

Completely agree about the eggs. Breakfast here involves watching my flat mate suck his boiled eggs and I am going to lose the plot over it soon- just nasty. Table manners are the cornerstone of adulthood.

Soft boiled eggs, runny, and toast soldiers are very nice.

Not yet, but this is a reason to get out of bed and try it at my local tea shop. All in all, I think Myanmar food gets and undeservedly bad reputation. The Mutton curry for example is delicately spiced and so tender. For lunch a just leave my lunch pail with security and by 11 there is a hot curry, rice and veggies for me. I eat with my students and have tried all manner of delicious food.

Are you sure it's mutton?
Had some interesting mystery meat experiences in the mainland, 'It's chicken miss' yeah, so what are those long hairs sticking out from the skin?

Myanmar English: Mutton = goat more often than not. The fried pork here is great, eat it mostly everyday which can't be that healthy

...goat curry is, of course, the Jamaican national dish...served with rice and beans and a thick slice of boiled yam...

At some time in the past, people started calling it mutton. In two and half years here, I've seen thousands of goats... nary a sheep to be found.

I cook all the time, enjoy it, will have ago at anything...my Mrs was amazed when we got together that i could actually cook...but then again i think i was one of the last of a generation where you had to do home ecomomics in your last year of primary school Mum made sure her sons could cook a full English breakfast, her reasoning being you never know when a woman will up and leave.
