With Pampas Argie steak sounds ideal. Tell her to sort out the Rancho steakhouses too...they have gone waaaaay downhill. Mostly in Amsterdam I live on €3 slices from New York Pizza. Give me n blether some good recommendations immediately! A demanding lad aren't you and impatient as well. Well let me recommend google. Suggest in Amsterdam you get yer ass to one one of those Argentian steak houses, just off Damm Sq, our resident cloggie will be along later to give directions. Shhhh rgs...i am not called smokie for nothing. My top recommendation is the burger and chips at the Irish pub behind the palace. Nice juice bar behind it too in the morning...not for juice but the quality of blonde totty stopping off. There is a coffeeshop opposite where you can sit and watch. |

Oh great stuff are you still wearing yer jesus sandals and cheesecloth shirts? Can you sing fer yer supper, black pudding one at that? I have begun a campaign to close down this Stornoway lot....did you know the sneaky buggers feed their pigs Tennents Lager and then have them race down the main street on a Friday night with betting stalls and all? You won't see that on the tourist brochures. No its organic Chang and Archa for me from now on and a proper plastic recyclable chair outside the mom n pop store. Those stone tables outside the evil imperialist 7/11's should be ripped out and replaced with swings we can strum our banjos on and save the world. Only just picked up on this thread 3 pages later. Engineering not my area of expertise (is any?). Delighted to discover it became a true mango thread, The humour, exchanges between friends and no snide digs. Well a little jest at our cloggie mate.He can laugh too.
I will chip in on my more serious note; alcohol. I know Bleth is clear on this, has seen the destruction and makes a rule to abstain for periods.The bragging of intake however funny is a serious issue, as I found out unbeknown to me. A life time alcohol dependent, the polite term for alcoholic, but not the type most imagine. Bleth I think knows this. I am very rarely drunk, can't recall being so this year. Ah you say, can't recall because you were blind drunk. Not so.I never drink in the morning, maybe occasionally with a meal at lunchtime, but drink of an evening. In my terms, moderately.But I am an addict and after 50 years my tolerance is sky high.The shock last week when stone cold sober in the morning, after 8 hours sleep and two more hours after breakfast and tea, I was asked politely asked to take a breath test. I refused on the grounds I had mouth washed with an alcohol based rinse, only a few minutes before. Agreed to a hospital blood test. Result positive. Discussed this with the doctor and he pointed out that I function normally with a constant amount of alcohol in my blood. I am an addict.
My plea is not to encourage endorse heavy drinking. I live with my addiction, control it, yes I control it.I do not roll around, bottle in hand , blubbering in slurred speech. If you met me, you could not tell whether I had had a beer last night, an hour ago, a minute ago.
No snide replies thanks ; I know none will come from those members who have written on this thread and entertained me with their comments.

I sailed close to the wind years ago, Buhi - close enough to scare me.
However, there's no escaping the fact I have drunk in ridiculous, scandalous quantities since then, in spite of that.
It's the Devil on the horizon, who occasionally comes in for a close look.
He's not welcome.
And neither is the idea of abstinence.
