The majority of members of this forum are known to each other in real life. Or, at the very least, there is a real life link somewhere.
That's a good thing for forum stability. It may be a bad thing for new members as it's the same as walking into a village pub full of regulars. You'll feel like an outsider for a while.
What happens next is the key.
Are you going to be the guy that stands at the bar, buys a pint, and is open to conversation?
Or are you going to be the ars*hole who sits in the corner flicking peanuts and shouting insults?
It's bizarre, extraordinary, the amount of people who conduct themselves online like the guy in the corner.
Embarrassing.

Ironic that the person who started a thread mocking people for self-deleting has now self-deleted two accounts.
On the bright side, she hasn't requested that proboards deletes her content. As angry as she is just now, she has too much class for that.
Unlike that weasel that can't even spell history correctly.

I am not being myself? How would you know? There were 4-5 know it all posters on AF who were extremely irritating, so unlike pb who always runs away I would strike back and prove them dumber than chit. If I am not being myself because no one irritates me here than fine.... That's your opinion, but it's incorrect. I just love it when other people play doctors and know your true personality. And what's the deal with people signing up with another username to keep the forum mystery going, lolz. Jesus christ, make a proper introduction and let's have a chat.....frt? yes, frt here, and you used to start a few threads a week and make a couple dozen posts/week on a.f. on bm, you seem to sensor yourself like <Bunny boiler> did to not appear like a troll.  Well, what can I say. I was younger and a bit more enthusiastic posting on AF. You know...I was always against people piling up on you with crap and insults. Heck, I never even jokingly called you FaRT when just about everyone did. I am not a bully, but I defend myself against twats like cytwat and aging bum. You never did, so I assume that kind of approach bothers you. There are a few posters here who always give me likes.... believe me....I have no idea who they are....they just seem like kind people who perhaps enjoy my occasional spontaneous posts. The same reason why I got along with Seb and <Bunny boiler> on AF. They never irritated me and were never condescending....at least not to me. That's all there is to it really. I only met 1 person from AF in all those years and he turned out to be a great guy. Cheerios |

Had a crazy dream last night - I am in an outback pub, circa 1975, enjoying a few coldies with my mates after a hard day's work. Suddenly, the door flies open and a mob of yobbos who have been kicked out of their local watering hole in the next town (about 500 miles down the track) stagger in and start insulting the locals, and then fighting amongst themselves. After a wild brawl most of the drunken drongos are either kicked out, or leave voluntarily. A couple of them, who are not bad blokes, decide to stay and get on well with the locals. One of the drongos, who was a persistent so-and-so, refuses to leave, and to the amusement of both the locals and the newcomers, continues to nip at the heels of all concerned. It is decided to allow him to stay, for entertainment value.  |

Shame <Bunny boiler> is gone, I enjoyed her contributions to the forum. Hope this forum can go back to how it was. Mandalay can be a shade isolating at times and it is nice to be able to socialise with like minded people, albeit online.
