Hmmm, maybe my own fault - I was drunk and carrying my Canon 700D camera which is worth a few quid, at 5.30 this morning. I noticed the guy walking down my side street, then stopped paying attention - next thing he ran at me and grabbed the camera, knocking me off my feet. Luckily I had a good grip on it so didn't lose it. Then he made a fateful mistake, he should have kept running.
Instead, he came back for a second pop. To be fair, I was struggling to get back on my feet, being drunk and all.
Anyway, Scotsmen like a good scrap after a bucket-full of whisky so the guy took a heavy doing. Quite enjoyable, it's been a few years since I've been involved in a decent scrap. ( I don't count knocking people out - that's not a scrap ).
There's life in the old dog yet.

You're lucky he didn't stick a blade in you.Where did this happen? Usually in Thailand it's more than one on one.

I'm blaming myself for being drunk and carrying a camera at that time in the morning. Stupid. In my defence, my wing man disappeared from the Cuban cabaret we were in, drunk as a skunk. Otherwise I wouldn't have been walking alone. On the bright side - I won a dancing competition at the cabaret club. The wing man has it on video and is promising to post it on Facebook. Better not, bastid.

Trying to squeeze a Peso out of a Scotsman is not the brightest of ideas.

Unusual for me to walk it home with a drink in me - to me it's a personal safety cardinal sin. Problem was, the club is only 400 yards from my hotel and I felt guilty getting a taxi. Won't happen again.

Yeah speedy Gonzalez gave the impression all Mexicans can run.
Stay safe over there, I saw Ross Kemp in some town and muggings aren't even considered a crime.

I was walking round Fremantle about 10 pm shortly after having bought a beautiful Minolta Digital when I got surounded by a mob. Thinking that this was it and better to lose the camera than my skin I handed it to the girl who asked for it who preceded to take a couple of photos of me quickly edited them on the camera and looked at them and started talking about how it was a beautiful camera and that once she had been able to have cameras like that. Then she gave it back. It is not all junkies that are bad. I ended with a couple of the best photos of me ever taken.
