I have had a mitsubishi in the lounge for the best part of 10 years and never missed a beat, other than getting a periodic clean and re-gas

Hitachi are good, had a good run with them. I agree with what you say about their cars but have not heard too many complaints about their air cons. Are you sure you are tech savvy enough to drive it ?

Are you sure you are tech savvy enough to drive it ? I have had a Mitsubushi for 7 years and it is still purring along quietly. Heats too. My aircon cleaner reckons they are way ahead of all the competition. He has suggested that this year he takes it to be cleaned out properly and flushed and then refilled I think we may do this though it does not seem to suffer. I have one which is only turned on for a few minutes every two months or so....in a room we do not need and there is no difference between them.

Actually he is pretty good. He sold us and installed 2 Samsung in the Big House but only because they were cheap. He was very honest in his appraisal but on the grounds of 8000baht each instead of 22000 thought they gave OK value for money. 4 units cleaned each 3 months inside and out 1000 bht total. No rippoff merchant.

As mentioned above, the heat aint the ploblem, its the humidity.

I pay 500 baht to get them cleaned and serviced every six months. If you can read Thai, the adverts are all over the place. All mine are about 12 years old, the only problem they have is discolouring, no longer diamond white but a bit yellow, can live with that.
