Well, that would very much depend on the school and city. I love it here in Yangon, but I'm sure opinion would be different if I weren't at such a nice language school. If I was making the pittance English teachers get paid in Thailand and had to teach children, then no, I couldn't endorse the Golden Land.
Is he CELTA certified? An NES? 12+ months teaching experience? My school happens to be hiring at the moment.

Worthwhile for sure- just research the school first. International School Review is well worth subscribing to. I loved my first year, a change in admin is killing me this year. The country is breathtakingly beautiful and locals for the most part are some of the most welcoming you'll find. Shame about the food; can't win em all,eh? Working in a country that is just opening to the world is also pretty neat.

Bridges are best crossed before being burnt. It is also best if you can to leave on good terms to prevent rumours and snide references to you which may be to potential future employers. On the other hand if you are not happy you must make plans to stay. A time to point out maybe when they complain about paper that the reason you went to the school was the promise of resources. Then look and find before you jump. Best offers come when you are employed. You could maybe get one and then give the notice.
