Again, newspaper journalists show scientific illiteracy and shoddy reporting standards.
He's not "Professor", he's an associate professor.
And this is no "cancer treatment".
I can't access the PNAS paper, but another recent paper by him on the same subject, "Photodynamic acidification therapy to reduce triple negative breast cancer growth in vivo", showed that in mice "tumor growth rate was significantly suppressed and survivability significantly increased". Interesting. Promising. But nowhere near a cure or treatment.
His approach is pretty much entirely based upon cell pH. I'm very unclear on what effect cell mutation (creating resistance) would have upon the efficacy of such treatment.

There's been very little research done on it because of all the legal difficulties surrounding cannabis. What is clear is that for some patients it can help with conditions such as nausea during chemotherapy, loss of appetite in AIDS patients, and for some kinds of pain. There is absolutely zero scientific evidence that it is effective against cancer in humans (or other animals, AFAIK). Anyone claiming it treats cancer is either clueless or a con artist. It may help with pain associated with cancer, though. |

What I think is the case is that it handles pain from the Cancer well.Not that it cures cancer. |

What a crock of shit these snake oil merchants come out with ! If cannabis cures cancer how does that explain all the long time cannabis users who develop cancer and die from it.
And I wish they would stop telling bare faced lies about the survival rates of chemo patients. If it was only 2% they would not be wasting their time with it.
