Cancelled a flight to London, and gave me an £80 credit plus fare refund.  I used it to book a flight, Edinburgh to Rome.  Upgraded to priority and fast-track.  Got on the aircraft in Rome, and put my bag in the rack.  Everyone else piled on, and bag space disappeared.  The hostie decided that my bag could be moved below my seat and attempted to hand it to me. I refused. It would result in me having less foot space on a three hour flight. 

Argument ensued, blank refusal from me, and I was in one of my rotten-hearted twisted moods.  I'd have happily disembarked rather than fold. The senior hostie stepped in,  and they folded. 

Can someone explain to me why priority passengers should be inconvenienced by economy passengers bringing a carry-on bag plus handbag(s)?  These low-cost airlines are going to have to get their act together on such a simplistic issue. One carry-on, and that's it. Not a carry on and a so-called handbag that could hold a week's shopping.
