It's a nice but chilly day so I just went to the hospital to get a Medical Certificate. My Work Permit runs to the 11th next month, so time to get the company working on the extension for which they need an up-to-date MedCert of course. Requirements still same as last year.
Went to BangPho hospital in BangSu. Big, nice, very good service. A nurse to escort you from entrance to right floor, another one to bring you to the right desk, another one ... Well you get the idea. Weight, pulse, blood pressure; after 10 minutes another blood pressure check (which tends to be much better
) . Blood letting for the Tertiary Syphilis test. Wait a bit for test result. Another nurse to escort you to the doctor. Young chap, good English; looks at me and already start filling in the form. I said 'thank you doctor' as I left five minutes later. Another nurse to bring me to the cashier, gives her the papers and wais a 'thank you'. I respond same of course, always mind your manners.
Bill THB 750, specified as
220 Laboratory Inventigation and Pathology (no, not my typo)
400 First out-patient care
100 Nurse service
30 Nurse service
In and out of hospital in 1-1/2 hours. Maybe a lesser bill elsewhere, but with such service who cares?
Drop the MedCert at the company's office tomorrow together with PP and WP and I guess I get things back properly updated around NewYear.
I wonder how this compares with the hassle people of other Nationalities might have to go through, or Thais trying to work in Europe.
