"Come to Oldham" brochure printed in three languages. I wonder if one of those was Urdu. If so, it clearly worked well.

As a younger man I was frequently in the area working, what was the name of that caff that was famous for pie and peas.? UPS ULC.? As a scouser pies came with chips so I was confused seeing people eat this aberration.

And now I read that Oldham makes a claim to being the "Home of the Tubular Bandage". I am not supporting this claim, just passing it on.

And now I read that Oldham makes a claim to being the "Home of the Tubular Bandage". I think there may be some confusion here. Mike Oldfield was the creator of "Tubular Bells".
