With a good business notebook only two years old upgrading tends to be easy especially when you don't have many exotic programs and didn't make too many settings changes (or wrote down what you did). So two years ago I got a notebook with Windows 10 PRO, later upgraded to 20H2 and 21H1. October 2021 upgraded to Windows 11. Dutifully applied monthly updates as well. Plus keeping various applications up-to-date. My simple log, a text file, has grown to 48Kb. Now a few days ago Windows 11 22H2. Only took 4-1/2 hours, more than half in downloading the 'feature release'. Afterwards I only needed to re-apply my own desktop picture. So far so good. Next month I may remove the leftover bits and pieces, would probably save one to two Gb. Of course, when you have an older device, special boards and/or interesting applications you might run into problems as usual. The first monthly update could be a bit bigger than normal. I also read that the monthly updates will also add new features on a monthly cadence. What fun www.theregister.com/2022/09/21/windows_11_2022_h2

So in truth, your machine is being run by the cyber world mafia boss Bill Gates. The gates on your machine open at his whim...

I've wondered at times to live like a hermit, away from all. I decided not to even if that means my life is run by millions upon millions of others who don't really care about me.
