Good news for those who like something resembling the taste of ale.
If you remember Dwyers Cream Bitter which disappeared during Covid, we now have Dwyers Best Bitter. The former was brewed in Cambodia the current lot in Vietnam.
Not yet available in many places, but one of them is Chequers in Soi 4 where it is on "special" at 230 a pint.
Warning:initially it does not taste much of anything due to it being as cold as everything else, but give it a few minutes.
Abv is 4.2%, which is good news for me but might confuse the pysse artists on here.

Thanks for this rott....I'll pop along and give this session ale a try....I prefer a 4.6 to 4.8 just usually pack more flavour.
Is it hoppy or tanked up with malt?

It's a while since I've had either but the flavour to me seems closer to Scottish "heavy" than English bitter. But it is a change from the usual lagerish stuff.

It's a while since I've had either but the flavour to me seems closer to Scottish "heavy" than English bitter. But it is a change from the usual lagerish stuff. Maybe not for me then...prefer a light hoppier ale...especially in this heat |

On an irregular Soi 4 visit, I was having one in Chequers when I spotted on the Dwyers pump "140 baht a pint while stocks last". I asked the charming lady if this offer was still current, she answered in the affirmative so I quickly got one in.
Unfortunately I was on my way elsewhere so had to dash. It seemed in good form so I will be back soonish.
I keep forgetting I don't really drink much anymore, which is a bit of a twat. But so were the hangovers.

I'm laying under a blanket on the sofa here in Scotland in 3C heat having consumed 2 cups of tea already.
Considering my homemade lentil and bacon soup for breakfast but also pomdering when to open the bottle of Barossa that keeps winking suggestively in my direction.
