I was shocked - shocked I'll tell you - when I read this excuse for starting a new FB group:
"A lot of Expat FB groups and Public FB Groups in Bangkok are flooded with older folks, this group is targeted for the younger crowd of Bangkok, expats, local Thais, students of all studies, workers of all occupations, promoters. musicians, artists of all disciplines, online philosophers, fitness buffs, food critics, backpackers the list goes on. post something funny post something serious your post will not pass judgment by the admin leave it to the crowd to gather your opinions. thanks for joining! Feel Free to add anyone who fits the criteria."
WTF is an online philosopher?

Ah, that would be the bitter and twisted individuals who frequent certain Thai based expat forums, pontificating and boring us with their tales of drudgery. They resent anyone who has made a success of their life, their usual mantra is if you are not poor you dont know the real Thailand.

"If we divorced, my girl told me she would sell the house and give me half the money." That's what one of these idiots posted recently - Beyond help.

Think of that quote above as nothing more than material for the next book, opium for the masses.
Priceless.
Straight from the buffalos mouth so to speak.

There was a poster on another channel who posted much the same thing. He was supposedly abut to become a baht millionaire after 'the sale' before she kicked him out and was chased out of some backwater by Thais wielding whisky bottles. He met another woman in a bar who was 'different' and invested his pension in that one, gawd only knows how that will turn out.

There's a guy in Chiang Mai that's notorious for buying every new "girlfriend," a motorbike.
The running joke is that it saves him money as he's already lost four houses to his previous three Thai wives.
The best/worst of it is - if you met him he would gladly tell you all about it.
He wears his "Mugship," as a badge of honour.
