To add , they're both into their 90s but still are really with it mentally. Just need help with general day to day things.

If you are needing a qualified nurse it may really cost you. They are fully employable in Australia at full wages and overtime. You may only need a care assistant and if part time could try one of the Technical colleges.

hip, do you have a company called Bluecare in that area ? I used them when I was doing rehab up in QLD, they were pretty good. They specialise in nursing care, in the home. If not there will be someone around there that does it. What part of the country is it ? Hope it is not too remote.

To add , they're both into their 90s but still are really with it mentally. You (your family) and your grandparents are fortunate. I’m not sure about Australia (Thai nurse?), but we (in the states) did this for a grandparent. There should be companies that will help you with this. How we did it and how it can be done. We went with and stayed with a company (for years!) that would schedule licensed geriatric nurses for us (make sure there’s a back-up plan/company). LPN’s during the evenings (grandparent for the most part was sleeping) and RN’s during the day (oversaw meds and doctor visits). LPN’s are less expensive vs RN’s. However towards the end (dementia) we went with RN’s night and day. The reason: my grandparent told us she wanted to remain at home and not a living facility. Some of these nurses will ask you to hire them away from the company they are working with. The reason,.they will tell you it is less expensive. CAREFUL! If that nurse is hurt while working for you, they can sue you (workman’s comp). Alternative: A living facility. There are some good ones (in the states) but you or a family member should make unscheduled visits from time to time. The costs can be great, especially towards the end. Good luck.

Be careful who you choose Hip. I had to dismiss my personal carer after she turned up almost two minutes late to take me grocery shopping. Attachment Deleted
