Just some personal thoughts.
I left england before the internet and face ache.
Went into a kind of solitary exile.
Then came the internet.
I replied to contacts. Family mostly.
Sons; that was not easy. Still is not.
For a time even ex wife and another who was almost once my wife.
They cut me off , sort of, but knew i still conversed with those who were still my contacts. Face ache.
I rarely write there.
Just happy birthdays and some cryptic comments.
Then others from long ago request friend or whatever.
Fine, i do not write much there.
But i read.
And that is interesting.
Every one of my past close friends, though some despise me, are all of a similar libertine type, could not care a f...k . Yes two ex wives included , plus the third , i count her as an ex wife.
Sons too. Not a right wing amongst them. A very old friend, not seen in eons from out of the blue on face ache.Stating much the same as i still do.
And here on mango i am a minority voice.
It is interesting to me.
Oh there is a far right amongst them, ex brother in law.
Well we never did agree. But i like him and understand where he is coming from, came from. He likewise knows me, perhaps even better now as i still dispute all his lack of reasoning.

We are what we were and nothing will change that.
