That's exactly what happened. A bloody great hole in my stomach. 3 months in hospital and a long recovery. Funny thing in hospital, ever morning for seven months they used to wake me up out of a deep sleep, stick a needle in my arm and steal blood, and throw a handful of pills down my throat on an empty stomach. I once asked ~ why don't you wait til I have had breakfast first ? Can't do that as the nurses are too busy at that time of the morning ! Funny !

Sorry, but it is standard procedure not to give pills on an empty stomach. My hospital in Thailand knows that. Never happened to me in England.

I arrived in Istanbul last night suffering from acute tendonitis in my left Achilles heel - I thought that was quite appropriate, going to Athens and getting an achilles problem Anyway, a massive queue met me at immigration after I painfully hobbled down. So my travel companion had a bright idea and asked if I could get a wheelchair. "Did he request a wheelchair and special assistance before the flight?" "No." "Ahhhhh..............." "Hold on, is that the man in the blue shirt?" "Yes."" "I saw him hobble down the gangway, he looks in pain - okay, here's the wheelchair lady." Who was as hot as heel by the way - five minutes later I was through immigration and wheeled down to baggage collection, then dumped out of it. But that was okay - it was a great way to jump a queue Do not forget to eat fried fish served withhalf a loaf of bread at the boats at the Galata Bridge (they sell from the boats because historically fisherman were allowed to sell fish from the boats so did not need the expensive restauraunt licences. You could try a chicken custard near the Hippodrome too. And if you have a nice day an ordinary ferry trip up the Bosphorous will leave some memories. You can wash the down with Efes. Yes, fish/bread tomorrow - plus the ferry as you suggested. I had the custard yesterday, nearly put me into a diabetic coma. And I'm not diabetic. These guys are big on desserts - and you can see it in their waistlines, plenty of massive people here. Also plenty of stunning women as rgs pointed out. Rarely do they engage, very modest women. Had one rising earlier today, I couldn't believe it.
