If your half Thai child needs their Thai birth certificate and Thai passport done in Australia, they can now be done by sending the relevan forms off to the Thai embassy in Canberra . Forms available on the Thai embassy Canberra website.
Previously you either had to travel to Canberra , or wait for them to visit the other cities which they'd visit for 1 day a year in each.
The other option of course is to organize all this in Thailand in person.
