I suppose we all look to the future and wonder if there's a day when the scales of life quality tip against us. Thing is, that's theoretical. If something happened today, would you want to be resuscitated?

Time for smokie's handy tip.
Later in this thread I am going to cover exactly how you should approach a resuscitation attempt but think on this one.
The biggest single factor in successful resuscitation of someone who's heart has stopped is early intervention with an automated external defibrillator.
If this is attached and working within 60 sec of the event the success rate is 90%.
This diminishes as the clock ticks regardless of all other efforts.
Now do you know where the nearest AED is to your home?
I will be back later from the biz lounge sipping champers to tell you exactly how to approach your rescue efforts.
Toodle pip.

No, Ivé had a good enough innings, when my times up let me slip away with dignity. Just make sure that you all raise a glass of Jamesons for me. P.S., if you really do have to give me CPR, I pray that you do it in style.

Don't worry Tony you can smoke and guzzle whisky in my class and please feel free to bully the Ozzy kuds...I don't like em either.

Not that i care in the sense i would use one anyway if needed Smokes but isnt there the matter of having to be qualifed medical person to operate a AED under thai law ? Truth or myth...i ask this as we had the same debate offshore where every deck has a AED and it wasnt the consequence of saving someones life and rozzers got involved somehow, but what happens if said person expires after using an AED and the rozzers will get involved

Just to be clear with an AED....you can't fvck it up.
You put the two pads on and switch on the machine and it tells you exactly what to do.
You can't kill someone with it unless you are a complete womble.

In fact, after I left they tore it down and built an old people's community there. They never even put a blue plaque on the spot where my desk was.

Your old teachers are there now Tony...roaming the corridors carrying their canes muttering, "Where is that little bastard...I'll catch him one day!"

My old teachers were actually very good teachers (just that I was a bad student). The only bad one that we had was a monster and he got sent down 2 years ago when his evil crimes finally caught up with him. www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-31456807

So if we're all at a big mango p**sup and blether ends up unconscious, because he ticked 'no' on this thread we should respect his wishes?
I ticked 'yes' by the way. I also don't mind which hospital you take me to. Just to be clear.
