I just noticed this on Facebook and this prescient comment -  Sometimes people go live to a different place thinking this change will make them feel better, but truth is, no matter where you go you're taking yourself with you. |

When i was a youth a friend's father spouted philosophically,
"Do not choose the ideal, choose the practical,".
It was directed to me.
Well i got that and it influenced me.
Pragmatism.
Take a holiday and be unreal.
Live in your paradise and you will find hell.
Surprise, i never did seek paradise, or comfort.
The raw edges define truth.
You may well need to change location, but knowing that the person is re located, not the self.
Unless you choose to be an ascetic, but a certain Buddha discovered that led no where.

Not the drinking, that is a forgone fact, but those i choose to drink with. How we laugh. Yes, i know it will kill me, but then many would love to. Then son and wife come home and again we laugh.
