She desires a Rolex, a diamond ring, and business class travel -
So I asked what am I getting in return?
"Looked after in your old age by a woman who will love you forever."

Whats the score on buying a wedding ring? Is 10% of a persons yearly wage the minimum you should spend? Heard that somewhere, not in Thailand though. The old fashioned can ring pulls come to mind (not speaking of your case there)

She has specific tastes. She knows the exact model she wants which will suit her. She makes a point of slating her pals that go for the most expensive anything but it forsn'the look good on them. A few months ago she wanted a Gucci watch - I said ...... "you? That would be like putting lipstick on a pig " I'mean still paying for that one

She leaves me drinking coffee when she wants to browse. Shopping with mum left me scarred for life.. Been trying to erase those hideous memories but they are there forever. Shopping with my mother was horrible. At least with my wife I am allowed to wander around the shopping centre on my own, admiring the pretty girls, yet still wishing I was somewhere else. Up and down town cos sugar was 1/2d cheaper, etc..

Usually ended up at the pub, Mum in the "Ladies Lounge" with all her drinking buddies, swigging down 7oz beers, lipstick marks around the rim, puffing on bloody Peter Stuyvesant cigarettes. Me drinking lemonades.

Was I relieved to start Grammar School. We got Tuesday and Thursday afternoons off, but had to go Saturday mornings, it got me off shopping. By the time the law forced a5 day week on the school, my sister was old enough to go with mum.

We lived in the outer suburbs, no big shopping centres in those days, no, had to go all the way into the bloody city to buy anything bigger than a toothbrush. Saturday, one of my cherished days off school, dragged in and out of buses, trams, and elevators by this ranting mad woman. Still remember years later, driving up George St in the city, seeing the big McDonald and East building, cursing it as I went past - "You, ya bastard ! I still remember being dragged around inside you by my Mother, buying bloody carpets and furniture etc"......................... "Oh, have to go to Mac & East and look at some carpet on Saturday"..................Oh shit !

Up and down town cos sugar was 1/2d cheaper, etc.. Shopping bags on the bike, shopping list with details including which shop, what items, what price. Check on getting back home. Send back to shop if 'something' was not correct. Those were the sixties

Is that all? Actually sounds like a good deal to me. Indeed, strike while the iron is hot, get in there, fill yer boots before she has poison dripped in her ear. I am more than willing to conduct sin sot negotiations on her behalf for a 10% fee. Alternatively you could suggest she reads and learns The Art of War and negotiates from a position of strength.

The old fashioned can ring pulls come to mind (not speaking of your case there) ^^^ only if you are daft enough to believe it, I was under the impression it was engagement rings, that were returned if the wedding was called off. Caveat emptor.
