Frustrating moment in the supermarket this evening. I was looking for the catfood, and I approached an employee and asked "Ka' fu beh ma ley?" (Where is the catfood?) I had learned the Myanmar word for catfood was ka'fu (which actually it can't be because Myanmar doesn't use the letter "F"). The lady took me to the coffee. No no no. Then she found a guy who spoke a little better English. Again I asked, both in Myanmar and English, with no comprehension from him. So, I resorted to mime. I said "MEEOW!" and mimed the act of eating. The clerk looked at me aghast, visibly upset. If he had the words, I'm sure he would have said, "SIr! We do not sell cat meat in this supermarket!"

All ,that for a bit of pussy, you sir are to be congratulated.
Next time just buy tuna, they tell me it smells like the real thing.

Not sure of Myanmar, but in Thailand lots of cats go hunting. Some mice, some larger game like buffaloes  |
