"A Chinese Museum Is Offering Cash to Whoever Can Decipher These 3000-Year-Old Inscriptions During the 19th century, farmers in China’s Henan Province began discovering oracle bones—engraved ox scapulae and tortoise shells used by Shang Dynasty leaders for record-keeping and divination purposes—while plowing their fields. More bones were excavated in subsequent years, and their inscriptions were revealed to be the earliest known form of systematic writing in East Asia. But over the decades, scholars still haven’t come close to cracking half of the mysterious script’s roughly 5000 characters—which is why one Chinese museum is asking member of the public for help, in exchange for a generous cash reward." mentalfloss.com/article/503069/chinese-museum-offering-cash-whoever-can-decipher-these-3000-year-old-inscriptions

Reckon our old mate Buhi might be the man for the job. Possibly one of his illustrious fore bearers was the original creator of these mysterious scripts.

With British kings and some being offspring of Trojan refugees, it might well be that some Normans had (Attila the) Hun forebearers who might have taken centuries if not millennia to travel from China. So, maybe buhi still has some heirlooms which can help in translating. Maybe some ancient opium pipe with the seal of the last, deprived Shang ruler Di Xin, quick witted and quick tempered.

Some of the inscriptions state " for a good time, visit the goat shed on the NE road to the village" or says the Chinese equivalent of "Killroy was here"

^^| thirty years ago I was in HK and bought my little sister an ivory heart with some Chinese characters. When she asked what does it mean I'm afraid I said "another bloody foreigner fooled". She wasn't too happy with me for a while

Seems as if Eddie Murphy has got the television rights to the inscriptions which were in fact the records left by Chinese time travellers all those years ago regarding their contact and experiences with a more advanced(?) civilisation. It's no wonder that those Chinese time travellers returned to their own time.

Being chinese its guaranteed not too mention any etiquette when being a tourist.
But it could mention how to best pick your nose in public.

But it could mention how to best pick your nose in public. I thought they preferred inhaling loudly, and if that doesn't work, blocking one nostril and expelling their snot onto the floor.

Early days, eating a chinese feed in the back streets of Beijing with chopsticks on a wonky table. Not an easy feat. It was massive and I managed to get through it, right down to that last peanut that just refused to be picked up. I was absolutely full to overflowing. I was bought up to finish the plate as wasting food was a sin. So the table was cleared and I sat for a minute before leaving. Feck me dead the waitress arrived with another plate full to overflowing. Apparently finishing the meal meant your were still hungry.
