Married five years - wife has two kids from a previous relationship.
He's heading home next year - and looking to take the family with him.
So he needs a job circa £23,500 a year to qualify under the financial criteria?
His wife is a worker, she'll end up working in Greggs or somewhere like that ( mainly cos she lives steak bakesc).
I think he's going first, she'll follow when she has the right to work, then the kids will be along last.
Whsr's going for the guy is that he is a degree qualified biologist type, and owns a home outright.
I'll take it the procedure after the wife arrives is straightforward, as long as the birth father is agreeable?

Nothings ever that simple when it comes to visas involving Thailand.
My mate did similar but for Australia. Her kid , not his. By memory it involved him getting proof he wasn't a kiddy fiddler by getting a national police clearance not a state clearance . The mum had a time trying to get the father to give his permission and I'm sure it ended in the father being a no show so the court allowed the kid to go.

I'd be amazed if there weren't several hitches along the way.
The UK embassy doesn't make it easy.

A local dog and pony show counts for nothing legally, Unless married legally the birth father has no rights.

Yup, legal marriage ^^^^ does she have the paperwork naming her as the guardian? If so she doesnt need the fathers permission, if not, he may have to be paid off.
