This is about computer systems, PCs, laptops, tablets and the like Now I know that my fellow BM-ers have nothing to hide and may wonder 'why bother', but with the sneaky access others may use your device to attack third parties as if you yourself did it. When you have Windows/10 read this: hardenwindows10forsecurity.comFollowing all instructions will probably only cost you a day or two plus a few re-installs because of typos. Clear mind required! For UNIX-es we have 'Bastille': bastille-linux.sourceforge.net/running_bastille_on.htmAlso a lot of fun. A spent the last two weeks going through it for an unnamed customer. Real fun. When they're finally convinced I'll replicate to a thousand or so other servers. Doing this remotely, online via the customers network is real fun as local operation may not be compromised and downtime is costly. Fingers crossed for next week. If your account suddenly shows up empty don't blame me

I presume for the time being that Window 7 (genuine system) is about as secure as any windows product? Windows open, intruders come to call.

I believe root access to proboards main servers is easy to do...maybe they fixed it its an old post...quote
They are using Version wu-2.6.2-11.72.1 for their FTP server
Port Scan has started ...Port Scanning host: 207.44.184.67 Open Port: 21 Open Port: 22 Open Port: 23 Open Port: 25 Open Port: 53 Open Port: 80 Open Port: 81 Open Port: 110 Open Port: 995
server on port 81 has a "secure login" by a remote login program called webmin.
Well I found out that webmin has security holes which can be easily exploited by running a simple perl script along with a free unix utility called netcat.
Using netcat in conjunction with that perl script, I can basically gain root access to proboards main server.
