From a recent post. Paul Kennedy was very dapper back then. White suits, neat short hair. I then the opposite. That was not a barrier. Neither was it with those other influences. Richard Shannon, (Richard Shannon is an historian best known for his two volume biography of William Ewart Gladstone. He was appointed Professor of Modern History at the University College Swansea, University of Wales in 1979.
He was born in Fiji, acquired his first degree at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and a PhD at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. He taught modern history at Auckland and then at the University of East Anglia before moving to Swansea.) My tutor. Weekly meetings. Malcolm Bradbury ,Sir Malcolm Stanley Bradbury KBE (7 September 1932 – 27 November 2000) was an English author and academic.
I was lucky.F ed up in Birmingham and then was priveledged to be taught by these guys and gals Lorna Sage, Lorna Sage was an English academic, as well as a literary critic and author, known widely for her contribution to the consideration of women's writing. Her ex husband bought my house. Vic Sage. Yep, those were the days.

And perhaps you might ask, perhaps, What happened? I quit. Became a teacher, but not an ordinary one. Flew high fast, but not without annoying the powers that were/be. Was sent a letter, one i do not have, from the chief education officer. My closeness to his daughter, unfounded, sure, we were friends and taught in the same school. Unfounded? Perhaps not, she was influenced by me. Yes, discussion, not sexual. I furious and decided to leave. Bad move. But that's another story.

Hang on, at twelve he tried to understand Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity.
Albert Einstein, in his theory of special relativity, determined that the laws of physics are the same for all non-accelerating observers, and he showed that the speed of light within a vacuum is the same no matter the speed at which an observer travels.
