^^^ concur, I am already dead, not my ploblem. Thai people, , pls define Thai? Upcountry they put themselves into years of debt to the local moneylender to have a send off that the poor deceased couldnt have paid for in 100 lives. ah yes thats good old face for you. And you gloat. Up country? Down country? Anywhere? Why do you care? My decisions are clear and they might be rejected when i am dead. That is up to the living, who in turn will die. They know that.

Rgs, everything you write on death is not as an atheist. It is as if you are floating above as some spirit gloating. That "Ain't me babe,". Yes it was a quote.

So i go down my family tree, yes maternal and paternal. I have it. Did my ancestors know of me? Did i know of them? What the f uck are you on about? Well i suppose i knew from them, but very little. They of course knew nothing from me. Not even gold teeth!. No i do not have any. It is what it is. Look at the beauty, not at the money. Pass that on. Funerals. I have only been to one. To comfort my mother; not that it was much comfort, but that's another story.

Funerals, a thought. Ping Pong, my best friend. Died after drinking with me. I went to the wat. Spoke to his parents. Gave a monetary contribution. Was not there at the funeral. I was there the last moments he was alive. Of telling him not to drive. Well i told him.

^^^ great stuff, hope you have left them enough money for a good old proper send off. I have been to enough of these events in Bkk and know what the costs involved are, they are nothing like what the dumb farang upcountry is being hit up for. Putting on shows of (non existant) wealth to try and gain face and status, not for me. Just put me on the back of one of those boats on the klong san saeb and set fire to it, its all bio degradable, the fish can eat whats left. Bloody Vikings

I'd like to think I'm going to be reincarnated repeatedly, so I'd like to add a few more works to be played at the funerals of my futures lives:
Albinoni Adagio in G Minor - almost as gut-wrenching as the Samuel Barber, though centuries apart:
Ravel's Pavane for a Dead Infanta. Well, just the title lets you know it's going to be sad. Played in the orchestra for this in a small village church 40 years ago. I still remember the experience.
Not a fan of Richard Strauss, but his Metamorphosen is rather special:
And since a teenager I have considered Bach's Mass in B Minor to be the greatest work ever written (played timpani for that as a teenager in a semi-professional performance in Cartmel Priory. Another experience not to forget, particularly as the sun started to set). I consider the opening Kyrie to be particularly great. However, for my future funeral, I'd go for the Cum Sancto Spirito:

I hate funerals , especially mine. I wouldn't mind a bar tab for everyone after my funeral.
I'd like the bar manager to say these are on hippity , enjoy.

First I read the topic title I thought it was the song you'd not want, but seeing the replies I guess I was wrong So, the last song before being deep-sixed or maybe (local custom) burned "Das gibts nur einmal, das kommt nicht wieder" (That you only have one time, that doesn't come back) Although, maybe
