Ferk that shoit, get the local 300 baht a day Burmese labourers in to pour concrete. My mrs sits on the terrace in the morning as she drinks coffee, even the locals know better than to acknowledge her, wanting pot plants that weigh a ton moved from a to b. FFS mrs rgs, we just moved them from there last week, now you want them put back again. If you really want to be fancy put in Astro Turf.

Just sell the house , move back into a condo. Stuff the lawns altogether.

I'd find grass that has runners. Then dig up 1 shovels worth and place that in your yard. Water the crap out of the area. 6 months later it'll be a nice green lawn. This is grass runners if you aren't sure. Its hardy stuff and like the name says , it runs! Cheers for these heads up hippity. I was looking at our grass and Nuannoi/Zosia seems to be this type already. I did a bit more googling and pretty much as you suggested using "plugs" and "sprigs" can be another good way of repairing lawns or even starting from scratch. So as an experiment I've taken some from the edges of grass elsewhere in the garden to repair some of the damaged patches. Plus regular watering as you say. Just guessing but, one problem with fast growing runners in areas where it is difficult to grow, eg poor soil, no sun etc, would be the competition for resources. Actually the poor sections behind the house which get almost no sun, and natural rain because of the roofs, and soil isn't great, seems to have a lot of these runners which have dried out, and come to the top, as a sort of thick mass. Not sure whether it is best to remove this dead looking grass completely or put more top soil on, or remove just some and top soil the remainder or just dig up and start again for these patches

Weeds, vinegar is good for killing weeds near edible herbs that are growing.
But if you want to drown some sheilas that's up to you.
