Everyone claims not to know why but some suspect it's because they think equity markets have peaked and are looking for some downside relief (sounds like something a person might make a trip to Soi Cowboy for):

Nice to see Royal London Sterling Extra Yield Bond Fund in the list of top performing bond funds over 3 and 5 years. 2nd place.

Also some significant out performance vs peer averages:

5 years 60% vs 24% peer average
3 years 28% vs 13% peer average

Been quite happy with those returns for a bond fund. Certainly better than cash.

Will be interesting to see how they perform in the next downturn
