The internal charging jack on my windows10 HP laptop has snapped off. Lucky if I got a week out of it. New laptop, can't use the bloody thing. Can't even remove the battery and charge it otherwise. Now what? Edit. Just checked. The battery can be removed. The other windows10 HP laptop can't. Also brand new. Maybe I just buy another similar laptop and use it to charge the battery. Until the internal charging port snaps off on it also. Long story short, can the HP battery be charged externally? Short answer seems 'maybe' Note the "look for AC adaptor hookup on battery". If none, game over. Plus the 'batteries tend to be notebook specific and therefore supplier specific. Seems standarisation needs more push from consumer organisations. www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-charge-a-laptop-battery-externallyLooking on youtube I see lots of clips on laptop batteries but most look like you shouldn't be afraid to end up buying a new battery BTW from which type of HP laptop can't you remove the battery? I thought only some tablets and netbooks were that 'tightly integrated' ? Thanks. The battery is fine but can't charge it. Both are HP pavilion, one just a week or so older than the other.

Rubl, I had faith in you (and still have) but..
Charger port is snapped, take it to pantip for a new one to be soldered on.
No need to complicate things. Would also be cheaper than buying an external charger.
Pop out for some bitterballen while its being fixed too.

As usual the topic moves back and forth with various issues. When charger port is snapped you either try for the 'it's in warranty period' or more easy the handyguys in Panthip or ITmall on Ratchada. When you want to charge a battery outside your mobile you start (non-)destructive empirical investigations with which you can learn a lot for the price of a battery As for oldie's 'can't take battery out of HP Pavillion' still wondering which model he has.

Which model you can't get the battery out? There are a few like "Pavilion 15-cc500 Laptop PC" and so. All differ if sometimes only slightly.

You can generallly get batteries on Ali Express... they cannot though be shipped china post so they are more expensive than before as you probably have to pay duty. The guys at Pantip can probably handle refitting it, they know how to open things almost as well as a soi 7 giirl knows how to open a tourist's wallet.

I am in Oz at present but am thinking it might be worth getting repaired back in Thailand. Laptops are disposable here apparently.
