Of course, we real believers know its not the earthly remains but the soul which counts. The part rising up, or going down. Mind you, if I understand correctly Crusades were fought for lesser reasons "Christmas countdown fuels debate over location of St Nicholas's grave Theologians say his remains are in Italy but Turkish officials say they are under St Nicholas church in Antalya where he lived The real hometown of Santa Claus is nothing like the North Pole. It is a two-hour drive from the city of Antalya, along a coastal road in Turkey nestled between the sparkling blue of the Mediterranean and, in the distance, the imposing Taurus mountains. There, in the town of Demre – called Myra in antiquity – lived St Nicholas, celebrated by Christians as a gift-giver." www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/dec/22/christmas-countdown-fuels-debate-over-location-of-st-nicholass-grave

The crusades. Here is a link concerning The Knights Tepmplar and it is worth watching the four episodes to get a better picture of the situation concerning the Crusades and the diplomacy and financial issues involved.I personally found the series very interesting

Well here's a bit more on Santa. High school sweethearts. First crushes. Illicit loves. Girls called Wendy. Guys called Dennis. All of them – in the history of rock, pop, hip-hop and indie – worthy subjects of lyrical love, lust and devotion. But there’s someone else who also gets their fair share of action when it comes to musical tributes, someone who looks a little bit like a Werther’s Original sucking, cardigan wearing, rocking chair loving granddad. Yep, Santa Claus, for some reason, is a hot piece of seasonal ass. His eggnog brings all the boys and girls to the yard. Well, Eartha Kitt certainly seemed to think so in 1953, when she started getting all hot under the collar with the festive but very, very pervy ‘Santa Baby’. Rubl, do you celebrate Zwarte Piet day in Bangkok?
In the UK we had Blauw Piet, but that was a TV show with Petra the dog and how to build stuff from empty bog rolls and cornflake boxes...

Ignorant rabble here Dutch celebrate Sinterklaas. Sinterklaas has lots of staff who happen to be black and called Piet. Sinterklaas 'pakjesavond' (alike boxingday) is celebrated on the 5th of December, early evening as kids need to go to bed early. The Dutch community in Bangkok and around, or at least those with children had some fun with a fair on the Embassy grounds on the sixth. www.nvtbangkok.org/images/evenementen/sinterklaas2017-1.jpg
