Not a fan of Khon Kaen. Took the kids to the zoo last year, what an embarrassment. I prefer the Udon, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan (Mekong) region.

^^^^ lets be honest how many guys after their divorce woke up one morning and said to themselves, thats the place for me? How many billy no mates types threw a dart at a map of Isaan and said, thats the village for me?
Answer, NONE.
Its nothing more than No Country For Old Men, A farangs graveyard, Gods waiting room.
Heck even the Isaanites down my way are talking about not going upcountry for new year.
Best head straight to Laos, Burma or Vietnam.
Bussiness opportunity, how about organising tours of the long since neglected Farang Macmansions built in the ass end of nowhere, the land of broken dreams and promises.

Isaan suits me just fine, sitting in a rice paddy knowing that the nearest farang is 4 hours drive away. Same as where I live in Australia.
