^^^ Worth a few bob too I suppose The hospital has a museum with a lot of the old stuff from the Asylums around Bristol (there were a number), the hospital opened in 1861 so it is steeped in history. I had the pleasure of working in a few of the old Victorian Asylums befoere they closed down - it was an experience that I am glad to have had. Some pretty amazing stuff in the Glenside Hospital Museum, and if anyone is ever in Bristol its well worth a visit - not a big museum, but worth an hour to have a good look around - you can then walk round the hospital grounds, which are pretty impressive and get a feel for how big a place it was. |
