The Australian Immigration Act and Regulations are spelt out in black and white. They have been passed through both sides of parliament. If he breached them too bad. He has now employed an immigration lawyer, good luck. www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2015C00382 Did you also support the Dictation Test? or maybe even: Henry VIII's Act of 1542 (33 Hen. VIII c. 8) which gave severe punishment for Witchcraft. THey were written laws so they must be right?

Australia has deported a fair few criminals over the years - including Brits who have lived in the country for years ( from childhood ). There was a guy of Scots descent deported back here a few years ago, ( Mad Dog something or other? ) - after living in Oz for 40 odd years.
I think it's fair enough. He and this guy had plenty of time to take up Australian citizenship and failed to do so.
Up to them.
