How do you shake them off? I came back top the UK with every intention of retiring then looked at my company books - turnover is through the roof. I've been back five weeks and signed contracts for two new shops. So my retirement at 49 now looks to be retirement at 52 - 54. My worry is I'll get there and want to keep going.
I'm suffering from that affliction that I think affects many - I want a cushion way beyond what I would ever need. When is enough enough?

Blethe, just keep going if you enjoy it. I tried a bout of retirement once and got bored stupid.
Just need to find a balance. I used to work 14+ hours a day, 6-7 days a week in ghastly conditions in a brutally stressful load of old bollox.
I still do the same stuff, but kicked all the nonsense into touch and found a much better balance.

Yup - I can't say I'm miserable at work - although there are some days I'd happily strangle a few of my customers. I think what got to me today was the sleet and snow - at the end of April. Unbelievable.

Do they have Morris Dancers down there? no - can't be having that.
Probably the worst national dance in the world.

Zommerzet is in the north? I've heard it all now It's north of 'ere. Thus Zommerzet is a northerly place. (Most people round here never move further than a radius of five miles from their place of birth). Gloucester is believed to be where the universe ends.
