I tried twice today in Bueng Kan to withdraw money from my Oz bank account at an ATM using debit card and both times received a message to contact the bank to confirm I am in Thailand, which I did. For me this is the most convenient way to get money. Hole in the wall at current rate and $5 fee. I have been getting cash this way for over 15 years without any hassles. Anyway, after contacting the bank I still can't access my money using my card. I'll try again tomorrow but am interested in how else to access my cash. Maybe transfer to the wifes account and withdraw?

Maybe transfer to the wifes account and withdraw? Bank transfers from Anza take about 4 days to hit your account. You get charged here for transferring the amount to your province. Best to transfer in AUD as you get a better rate.

Thanks Me, now how do I do that. Apparently my bank is Oz has a new security protocol in case you fake your own identity, steal your own card, fluke your own pin.... I thanked them for the inconvenience.

WankBank have finally informed me that if you don't use your debit card for 3 months they block it. Well that is bloody handy.

You could ask them why it is not in their terms of service.

You could ask them why it is not in their terms of service. It possibly is, along with another 400 pages of bs.

Excellent service on the part of the bank. They could have told me 4 days ago when I contacted them first time.

I must say I have no complaints about ANZ I use the online most of the time and a couple of times I have forgotten my password and have no trouble changing it either on the web or from their phone number which has never left me on hold very long. Skype works. Transfers come through in about 4 days and most of thst is here. The phonebank staff have been good too.
