Not the easiest person to get along with but none the less a hero and inspiration for his troops, Stanisław Sosabowski. Fought bravely with his Polish troops during Market Garden. Swept aside as part of higher politics and strategies when Stalin was still an important ally.

The Polish 1st Independent Parachute Brigade is still remembered in a.o. Driel in the Netherlands.
