Have seen Bunter's food mentioned a few times in other threads on here. They have a lot of products that would suit the Anglo palate and those that like a full English breakfast. Reasonably priced too. Never really had a decent oven to cook them in until recently though. We made our first order yesterday. Very happy with the order and delivery. Sausage, bacon, etc. - Difficult to get good sausages here. Bacon looks nice and better quality than the supermarkets. Cheaper too. Pies - good range for people who wonder who ate them all Tenderloin steak, roast beef, beef burgers for the kids etc So far not ordered any of the imported goods, but they also do bisto gravy, mushy peas, sarsons vinegar, marmite etc. Anyway, thought I'd share in case anyone looking for similar. Thanks me. Had a quick look and they seem to have a wide range on a lot of things. Seems a pricier than Bunters but more selection. I've bought from Villa from time to time, although often good on things not easy to get elsewhere, like on many things it's more expensive than normal supermarkets, and definitely Villa is more expensive than Bunters. Will keep an eye out for the produce. (Didn't really want to write that I will keep an eye open for sausage kings )

Bit pricey unless you have a big freezer, His curries direct are better than the ones he sells at Villa as the ones he sells direct do not contain rice just curry and are round 200 ml. You can always add a bit more chicken if you like. Direct is the way to go.

Sloanes do a sausage wrapped in bacon which is effing wonderful cooked in the oven.
I usually order em from Passion Delivery and if I go halfway in the booking but don't actually order I often get an email with a 10% off code I use the following day.
Some good stuff on that site too.

On the sky train, are you sure? I was informed that it was on a golf course. Edited to add:You are quite correct SirPolee, just done a search and found out that Howard collapsed Thong Lor BTS station and not on the golf course. Sorry, I should never doubt the word of a plod.

I was chatting with Howard a few days before he died and he was telling me all about the new fitness regime he had recently started, he had even suggested we had a round of golf together, it wasn't to be though not as we knew that then of course.
I have often thought that his change of life style perhaps hastened his untimely death.
The very same day as we had been talking he had taken me to visit what were then to be the new premises, now of course in use.
So proud of his cold rooms, preparation rooms, and cooking facilities etc So sad he never got to see how it all fell into place though.

Howard was a very down to earth guy (bib & braces type), a big lad but as gentle as a lamb. He certainly trained his staff very well.

Pies that have been microwaved only? Pastry goes all soft. Microwave is Ok to defrost, but pies taste much better out of a real oven. Similarly for steaks and roast beef - Microwave really isn't useful for anything other than defrosting. Grilling steaks and oven roast beef much better Bacon's Ok though, you can fry it in a pan, as can sausage. Often get 7's own meals waved though - handily quick Portions are a bit "stinky" tho on their ready made meals - usually need 2 for a growing lad like myself

The Zanussi stand alone ovens are excellent for pies etc and the oven itself is not expensive, a good piece of lit.
Re. sausages: I bought some Sloanes premium English Pork Sausages last year and threw them away, can you believe that, they are the most disgusting sausages I've ever seen with large pieces of fat embedded throughout, gives me shivers to think about them - you have been warned.
