My worst job was super glueing rubber grommits onto Ford brake lines. Fkt up job I had when I was about 48 or 49. Glued my fking fingers together every day until I quit a day later. So any Ford drivers out there who's brakes failed I'm sorry. Cnut of a job it was. Did the smell of the glue (the dissolvent?) give you a high though, or just one big f...ing headache ? It was a horrible job. Truly awful. try super glueing a satang coin onto a drinking straw for 8 hours straight. Thats very close to how that job went.

I think after 10 minutes I'd feel like staging a revolt and glue some supervisors or HR chaps

Reminds me of my and a couple of colleagues ''careers'' as ''road-sweepers.''
A surveillance team was put into place to monitor the activities of persons of interest to our dept. We were sent for training to a local council depot where we were instructed in the art and actions etc of a council road sweeper.
Issued with suitably worn overalls, scruffy boots and used brooms, off we went. Tea and sarnies, Rizla and baccy too (none waccy baccy style I hasten to add) We fitted the part well
Good result after a couple of weeks too, let alone the chance to ogle and wolf whistle the girls as the passed by and throw out our one liners to them, all P C in those days and expected too.

I was the miserable bastid who refused your emergency social security payment at 5pm on a Friday after keeping you waiting for six hours.

Still working. Electrical engineer training/mentoring electrical engineering graduates in Myanmar. Very satisfying work.... The young people know the theory ( well some of it) but never had an opportunity at university to actually use it.....simply no money for equipment. No PLC at university..... All the programming done on a blackboard. They are so keen, willing and able to learn, it's a wonderful job for me at the twilight of my working life, and to be honest it's given me a lift and a bit of purpose compared to the corporate bullshit I was involved in previously back in Oz

Well done, I know exaclty what you mean by corporate BS, been there done that.
Too be honest, I doubt if I could even pass the exams I sat years ago.

I am still tied up with the corporate bullshit. When you think it can't get any worse they surprise you.
